By creating a Nilon account or using the Nilon Chrome extension you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Lincoln Laylor ("Nilon", "we", "us") governing your use of the Nilon web application, Chrome extension, and associated APIs (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service you confirm that you are at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher).
Nilon is a tool for capturing, organising, and acting on AI-generated content. It allows you to save text outputs from supported AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity), auto-tag them using AI classification, search your saved outputs, and trigger contextual actions such as opening content in Google Docs or Google Calendar.
The Service is provided on a freemium basis. Free accounts may save up to 50 items. Pro accounts have no save limit and access additional features as described on the pricing page.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time with reasonable notice. We will not remove core vault functionality (viewing, exporting, or deleting your saves) without first providing an export option.
You are responsible for:
You may not share your account credentials or create accounts on behalf of others without their consent. One account per person unless otherwise agreed.
Accounts created via Google or GitHub OAuth are subject to those providers' terms in addition to these Terms.
You agree not to use the Service to:
Nilon is a personal productivity tool, not a bulk data collection platform. Automated or programmatic bulk-save workflows that abuse the service may result in account suspension.
You retain full ownership of the content you save to your Nilon vault. By storing content in the Service you grant Nilon a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display that content to you as necessary to provide the Service.
This licence does not include the right to use your content for AI model training, sharing with third parties for commercial purposes, or any purpose beyond operating and improving the Service for you.
You represent that you have the right to store any content you save — including that saving AI-generated outputs does not violate the terms of the platform that generated them. Nilon is not responsible for third-party claims arising from content you save.
When you delete content or close your account, we remove your content from active systems within 24 hours. Backup retention is described in the Privacy Policy.
Free accounts are provided at no cost subject to the save limit and feature restrictions described on the pricing page. We reserve the right to adjust free tier limits with 30 days' notice.
Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. By subscribing you authorise Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on your first Pro subscription payment. Contact support@nilon.io within 14 days of your first charge to request a refund.
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". Planned maintenance will be announced in advance where possible.
The Chrome extension depends on DOM structures of third-party AI platforms that change without notice. We maintain a remote selector config to minimise disruption, but there may be periods where saving from a specific platform is broken. We cannot guarantee compatibility with any third-party platform and are not responsible for changes those platforms make.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Nilon and its operators shall not be liable for:
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid to Nilon in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) CAD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability. In those jurisdictions, the above limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
By you: You may close your account at any time from Settings → Danger zone. This cancels any active subscription and permanently deletes your data.
By us: We may suspend or terminate your account for material violations of these Terms, illegal activity, or persistent abuse of the Service. We will provide notice where reasonably possible and give you an opportunity to export your data before termination, except in cases of illegal activity or fraud.
On termination, your licence to use the Service ends immediately. Sections covering intellectual property, liability, and general provisions survive termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Nilon regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.
